You can use your Transit (TRN) or Parking (PKG) funds to pay for a wide variety of commuter products and services. This is an individual benefit only, so you are unable to use this benefit for your spouse’s or dependents’ commuter expenses. The IRS determines which expenses can be reimbursed by a pre-tax Commuter Account.
You can use your Commuter funds to pay for eligible expenses under the two categories:
You cannot use your Parking funds to fund your Transit expenses, and vice versa. Please see the below table to find out more details.

Please note that each administrator might have different plan rules and criteria regarding eligibility. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our Member Experience Team via LiveChat or [email protected] if you have any questions.
Always keep your receipts and other supporting documentation related to your Commuter expenses and claims. The IRS may request itemized receipts to verify the eligibility of your expenses. Please note that a detailed receipt is required. Credit card payments, canceled checks, and balance forward statements do not meet the requirements for acceptable documentation. You can save your receipt on Forma by submitting a manual claim if you pay out-of-pocket, or you might be asked to provide the receipt to Forma for your Commuter card transactions.
